IF Conditions and Email Greetings

PostPosted by bridgetleanne » Tue Jul 18, 2017 5:52 pm

Hey all,

I'm trying to use conditions to insert email greetings automatically based on what time it is.

For example, if it's 0800, I want FastKeys to insert "Good morning!" and if it's 1230, I want it to insert, "Good afternoon!"

Any suggestions on how I got about it?

Thanks in advance :)

You can use If Condition macro (More/Macros...).

Condition name: Morning
Condition: A_Hour<12

Your text would look like this:
Good %IF_Morning%morning%ELSE%afternoon%END%,

So I added the IF condition to a phrase (screenshot 1- https://app.box.com/s/ccqkep60kackgsyt95ffq1do4odbvyte), but now when I try to add a Form Selection macro to another phrase, I get an error (see screenshot 2- https://app.box.com/s/wu059ow6k46oqdzx5dppsfkwvr0mx024).

Did I screw something up?

Everything looks fine, it works on our computer. Do you use any additional macros/specific settings? You can send us your settings.fdb and settings.ini files to our support mail and we will see what might be the issue in your case.

Alternatively you can use the following:
Type: Command
Code: Select all
Send, Good{Space}
if (A_Hour<12)
   Send, morning
else
   Send, afternoon
Send, {!} The rest.
